 "Audible Emotions"

What makes singing onstage so fascinating, for singer and listener? How do we make our emotions audible? How do we get "inside" the music to understand it better? What is the connection between drama and voice? And what is it like to share this onstage singing experience together with others?

OPC was created to examine those and lots of other questions, and have fun doing it! This "informance" is a combination of music and narration. Just the glorious sound of voices - no costumes or scenery!

You'll hear duets and ensembles including some of opera's "greatest hits"  –  the Barcarolle from Tales of Hoffmann, "flower duets" from Lakme and Madama Butterfly, and excerpts from Mozart's Magic Flute and Cosi fan tutte, Bizet's Pearl Fishers, Wagner's Die Walküre, and Leonard Bernstein's Candide.

All woven together with humorous anecdotes and fascinating historical and musical insights by David Gordon (for more about David, follow this link).
