WELCOME TO
OPERA PROJECT CARMEL!
We are one of the newest musical organizations on
the Central Coast! Created by and for singers, Opera Project Carmel
celebrates the joys of singing onstage.
Opera Project Carmel provides regional singers
with opportunities to learn and perform operatic music in a safe and
encouraging professional–level environment.
In our scenes workshops and performances, we focus
on vocal "acting," without sets or costumes. We explore the magic and
power of vocal sounds to create drama and emotion.
We also give regional audiences opportunities to enjoy
and enhance their appreciation of the art of operatic singing. The goal
of Opera Project Carmel is to offer several concert performances of
operatic music annually, and to increase public acceptance and appreciation
for the art of opera.
Our premiere concert in February 2009 drew an overflow
audience. We managed to find seats in the hall for nearly 250 people,
and turned away many more at the door.
Our next performance will be in October, and we'll
probably do that show twice because of the demand for tickets. Stay

Opera
Project Carmel is an incorported 501(c)(3), non-profit cultural
and educational organization. All donations to OPC are fully
tax deductible.
Singers
in the Central Coast region are welcome to audition
at any time for a chance to participate in our
future opera and musical theater scenes workshops.
